CALL WTO Routine<br />

Sends a message to the system console<br />

z/<strong>OS</strong> specifics: all<br />

Syntax<br />

CALL WTO (“text-string”);<br />

text-string<br />

is the message that you want to send. It should be no longer than 125 characters.<br />

Description<br />

WTO is a DATA step call routine that takes a character-string argument and sends it to<br />

a system console. The destination is controlled by the WTOUSERROUT=,<br />

WTOUSERDESC=, and WTOUSERMCSF= <strong>SAS</strong> system options. If WTOUSERROUT=0<br />

(the default), no message is sent.<br />

DINFO(directory-id, info-item)<br />

directory-id<br />

specifies the identifier that was assigned when the directory was opened, generally<br />

by the DOPEN function.<br />

info-item<br />

specifies the in<strong>for</strong>mation item to be retrieved. DINFO returns a blank if the value of<br />

the info-item argument is invalid. The in<strong>for</strong>mation available varies according to<br />

the operating environment. This is a character value.
