NOFILENULL<br />

prevents zero-length records from being written to external files. This type of record<br />

is ignored.<br />

Details<br />

If your file transfer program cannot handle zero-length records, you should specify<br />

NOFILENULL be<strong>for</strong>e you create the file that you want to transfer.<br />

FILEPROMPT System Option<br />

Controls whether you are prompted if you reference a data set that does not exist<br />

Default: FILEPROMPT (interactive); NOFILEPROMPT (batch)<br />

Valid in: configuration file, <strong>SAS</strong> invocation, OPTIONS statement, OPTIONS window<br />

Syntax<br />

FILEPROMPT | NOFILEPROMPT<br />

FILEPROMPT<br />

specifies that you want to be prompted. The prompt allows you to create the data set<br />

dynamically or to cancel the request. This is the default value in the interactive<br />

environment.<br />

NOFILEPROMPT<br />

specifies that you do not want to be prompted. In this case, the data set is not<br />

created, and your LIBNAME or FILENAME statement or function fails.<br />

Details<br />

The FILEPROMPT option controls whether you are prompted if the physical file that is<br />

referenced in a FILENAME statement or function or in a LIBNAME statement or<br />

function does not exist. This option has no effect in batch mode.<br />

FILEREUSE System Option<br />

Specifies whether to reuse an existing allocation <strong>for</strong> a file that is being allocated to a temporary<br />

DDname<br />

Default: NOFILEREUSE<br />
