System Options under z/<strong>OS</strong> Summary Table of <strong>SAS</strong> System Options 529<br />

If XCMD is in effect, you can issue operating environment commands through any of<br />

the available <strong>SAS</strong> interfaces, including the X command or the X statement; TSO<br />

command, statement, function, or CALL routine; SYSTEM function or CALL routine;<br />

%TSO macro; or %SYSEXEC macro.<br />

Summary Table of <strong>SAS</strong> System Options<br />

The following table lists all the <strong>SAS</strong> system options that are supported under the z/<br />

<strong>OS</strong> operating environment. The table gives you the following in<strong>for</strong>mation about each<br />

<strong>SAS</strong> system option:<br />

3 the option name<br />

3 the default if you do not specify the option and if the option does not appear in the<br />

configuration file, in your site’s default options table, or in the restricted options<br />

table<br />

3 where you can specify the option<br />

3 where to learn more about the option.<br />

The Specified In column indicates where you can set or change the option’s value.<br />

The abbreviations are<br />

SI <strong>SAS</strong> invocation<br />

CF configuration file<br />

<strong>OS</strong> OPTIONS statement<br />

OW OPTIONS window.<br />

Some options have different default values depending on the mode in which <strong>SAS</strong><br />

software is running. For these options, the abbreviations are<br />

(b) the default value in batch or noninteractive mode<br />

(i) the default value in interactive line mode<br />

(w) the default value in windowing environment mode.<br />

The OPTIONS Argument column indicates the argument you can use with the<br />

OPTIONS procedure to list the current values of an option.<br />
