FILESPSEC= System Option<br />

Specifies the default secondary space allocation <strong>for</strong> new physical files<br />

Syntax<br />

FILESPSEC=secondary-space-size<br />

Details<br />

The default secondary space is allocated in units that are specified by the FILEUNIT=<br />

system option. Use the FILESPPRI= option to specify primary space allocation, and use<br />

the FILEDIRBLK= option to specify the number of directory blocks to allocate.<br />

The value of this option is used if you omit the SPACE= option in the FILENAME<br />

statement or function or in the LIBNAME statement or function when creating a new<br />

physical file.<br />

The range of acceptable values is 0-32760.<br />

FILESTAT System Option<br />

Specifies whether ISPF statistics will be written<br />

Default: NOFILESTAT<br />

FILESTAT | NOFILESTAT<br />

Details<br />

FILESTAT causes ISPF statistics to be written in the directory entry <strong>for</strong> a new member<br />

of a partitioned data set, or updated <strong>for</strong> an existing member that already contains ISPF<br />

statistics. NOFILESTAT suppresses ISPF statistics.
