There wore three principzl typos of oporational rations : a* Field Ration "0" was a cooked balanced ration in cans. Each ration consisted of thrco cans of,prtparrd mer.ts and vcgctablos, and three ~ ansof crackers, sugar and solublo ocffee. As this ration was not porishablo, it was suitable for use as a unit OX individual reservo ration, b. Tkis ration could be used to replace the C ration for special purposes, o, The 10-in-1 Ration was a composite ration. Subsistence for 10 men for one day or for five man for two days was included in tho packago. There were four separate inner pnCkEgQS. Each package contained ccmponents of fivo rations and oach sct of two djffercnt packages combinod to make fivo comnlete rations. The LO-in-1 ration provided a wido varioty of food in fivo diffcrcnt menus. d. Originally, thls ration was intended as n complete reserve ration, but was used principolly in the Suropean 'Pheater as a supplement* to the operctionol rttions.
