Encourage the ability to criticize and, in addition, also encour-<br />
age their willingness to learn. Most businesses have to adapt<br />
to new requirements on a regular basis. Production processes<br />
change and sometimes even the entire structure of a company<br />
also changes. Not only do you have to adapt but your staff has<br />
to as well; they have to learn new processes and then re-famil-<br />
iarize themselves with the work. One can expect that you will<br />
perform these tasks conscientiously but your employees must<br />
also have the opportunity to fulfill this task.<br />
This can only be realized if they are thoroughly indoctrinated<br />
into their new or modified work areas. This takes time, of<br />
course, but without this investment in time it will not be possi-<br />
ble to implement the new or modified structures. Therefore,<br />
you need to plan sufficient time when implementing an organizational<br />
transformation with regard to employee management<br />
and guidance and, in addition, you need to give yourself<br />
sufficient room to adapt to the new tasks.<br />

praise is just as important as is criticism when it comes<br />
to personnel management. Your workers and employees should<br />
know when they have done something right. In times of stress or<br />
when there are many orders on hand, additional work or overtime<br />
is required and then it can be a good opportunity to pay<br />
tribute to your employees’ excellent work. This can be done by<br />
special monetary incentives, by gifts or simply through words.<br />
Ask your employees to choose whether they wish to be paid<br />
for their overtime or be allowed to have time off. This too is a<br />
form of recognition because your employees have completed<br />
additional work and with that they also have invested additional<br />
time into your business and now they should be able<br />
to determine themselves if this can be compensated through<br />
additional furlough or by monetary means.<br />
If you have established a relationship of trust with your employees<br />
then you can ask them that they contact you immediately<br />
in case of problems and you can also assume that this will be
