RESOLUTION OF PAST GRAND MASTER ROBT. R. REID.
The resolution of Past Grand Master Bobert E. Beid, offered on
last evening, came up for action. This resolution had for its object the
solution of the Masonic Temple proposition, and proposed the sale of
the present Temple and site and the erection of a new Temple upon
another site with the proceeds of such sale.
M. W. Bro. L. E. Thomas, Past Grand Master, offered the
following resolution as a substitute for that of M. W. Bro. Reid:
Resolved, That the Board of Grand Lodge Hall Directors be and
they are hereby authorized to ascertain what price they can obtain
for our present Masonic Temple during the next twelve months. Be it
further
Resolved, That said Board also ascertain what options or properties
they can obtain on various other locations in New Orleans for the erection
of a Masonic Temple for the Grand Lodge of Louisiana, and that
pending all proposals and offers for our present property, the entire subject
matter be relegated to the next Annual Grand Communication.
AMENDMENT OF W. BRO. J. W. DUNCAN OF COLFAX LODGE NO. 259.
W. Bro. J. W. Duncan, of Colfax Lodge No. 259, submitted
the following amendment:
Resolved, That before any purchase of property is made, that the
Grand Master shall request from any and all cities in this State offers
for donation of the whole or part of the necessary amount of land or
other contributions toward the erection of a Masonic Temple.
AMENDMENT BY W. BRO. A. B. BOOTH, OF MILFORD LODGE NO. 117.
W. Bro. A. B. Booth, of Milford Lodge No. 117, offered
the following additional amendment: ,
Resolved, That the Board of Grand Lodge Hall Directors are authorized,
in their discretion, to strengthen and repair the Temple property
until such time as the Grand Lodge shall see fit to sell or rebuild.
Both of these amendments being accepted by Past Grand
Master Thomas, the substitute offered by him, embodying these
amendments, was adopted:
RESOLUTION OF W. BRO. HERBERT W. KAISER, OF JEFFERSON
LODGE NO. 191.
Resolved, That it is the sense of this Grand Lodge that Plan No.
1 of the Special Committee on Temple Property shouIS be adopted, and
with that end in view, be it further
Resolved, That the incoming Grand Master, together with a majority
of the Board of Grand Lodge Hall Directors be and they are hereby
authorized to make the necessary financial arrangements, not in excess
