78 PROCEEDINGS OF THE GRAND LODGE
On December 16th, to Looa Lodge No. 303, same purpose,.
December 25th.
On December 25th, to Leesville Lodge No. 240, same purpose,
December 25th. ,
On December 17th, Dispensation granted to Marian Lodge
No. 283, to convene temporarily in the hall occupied by the
W. 0. W.
On January 5th, 1912, I granted Dispensation to Urim Lodge
No. Ill to install its officers on January 13th. The delay of the
installation having been caused by circumstances beyond their
control.
On January 16th, 1912, I granted a Dispensation to Acacia
Lodge to install the officers elected at their December meeting,,
this Lodge having failed, on account of the weather conditions^
to install at the proper time.
On January 11th, 1912, I granted a Dispensation to Milford
Lodge No. 117 to install their officers at their next stated communication,
they also having been prevented by the inclemency
of the weather to install at the proper time.
DISPENSATIONS REFUSED.
On March 26th, I refused to grant a Dispensation to Shongaloo
Lodge to lease their Lodge room to the Odd Fellows. This
Dispensation was refused for the reason that the granting of
the Warrant of Dispensation to Shongaloo Lodge was predicated,
only three months before, upon their exclusive occupancy of the
Lodge room. I saw no reason to negative this condition by the
granting of a Dispensation.
On May 4th, I refused to Pine Grove Lodge No. 288 a Dispensation
to waive the required time for the investigation of thepetition
of an applicant.
M. W. BAYLISS VS. THE GRAND LODGE OF LOUISIANA.
I have the pleasure of stating to this Grand Body that this
celebrated case came up for trial in the Civil District Court in
the City of New Orleans during the course of the year and that
a decision in that Court was rendered in favor of the Grand
Lodge of Louisiana. I abstain from further comment, as an
appeal was taken by the plaintiff in this case to the Supreme
Court of this State.
