The spc'fiuK'ii has evidently been made over into a modern study skin, (juite
complete except for the tail, which is rather fragmentary; skull perfec-t.
No numbers are referred to in the original description, but in the ^lammals
of North America it is seen that there were two specimens, an adult female and a
young. IVIeasurements of a skull are given in the first description, which apply
to the adult female, no. -xS'Jr- Hence it is regarded as the type.
