.\ U-<strong>si</strong>iaped piece is lacking from the ba<strong>si</strong>occipital, and there is a largo hole in<br />

the ba<strong>si</strong>sphenold between the ])terygoids. The following teeth are jiresent in<br />

the upper jaw: The last thr»'e ti-eth on the right <strong>si</strong>de, the last tooth and the second<br />

from the last and the third from the last on the left <strong>si</strong>de. The following<br />

teeth are mas<strong>si</strong>ng in the lower jaw: In the h-ft <strong>si</strong>de the last molar, the third<br />

premolar, and the third inci.sor; on the right <strong>si</strong>de the second inci.sor.<br />

According to tiie catalogue there should l)e a skin liearing No. 12237. It has<br />

never been found in tlie ]\Iuseum collection. In a letter dated May 12, 1908,<br />

Dr. .1. A. Allen remarks: "In reference to the type of Bassarirnoii galilni, 1 never<br />

saw a skin belonging to the type skull. Through some error in cataloguing a<br />

skin of X
