Skull jjerfeet, excei)t for loss of 4 middle uj)per incisors, first and second right
and first left upper premolars, 8 lower incisors, first and second right and lirst
left lower ]>remolars.
This is the only adult male skull labeled as Ursun alascensis by Doctor Merriam
at the time the description was published antl is the only one showing all the
characters mentioned.

Skull in good condition. It is old and most of the teeth are nuuh worn. The
cainnes are sj)lit and cracked in the usual way of large teeth; the second low»'r
molar on the left side is nearlj' decayection.
