Badlj' made skin in rather jjoor condition; legs sprawling, tail not skinned out.<br />

A naked patch on left <strong>si</strong>de. It has the appearance of once having been in alco-<br />

hol. Skull much damaged, but lower jaw almost perfect. Rostral and tooth-<br />

bearing portions above complete, but the teeth on right <strong>si</strong>de are all broken off.<br />

Fragments of cranial bones present and adherent to dried-up brain.<br />

Type not de<strong>si</strong>gnated l)y mmilier in the original description, l)ut in Mannnals<br />

of North America it is seen that Baird liad but one specimen referred to by<br />

number.<br />
