Badly-made skin with bare patches on the right flank and on the back. Tail<br />

never skinned out and tip gone. Skull in bad condition. All the upper teeth<br />

lacking; pterygoid region broken, both zygomata lacking; a large hole in the<br />

middle of the cranium. Lower jaw almost perfect. This skull apparently con<strong>si</strong>sts<br />

of sections of tw(Mlifferent sjiecimens glued together. (See Osgood, North<br />

Amer. Fauna, No. IS, p. 4.3, Septendier 20, 1900.)<br />

No type de<strong>si</strong>gnated, but the description is clearly based upon No. 577.<br />

Specimen generally well preserved, but the color looks changed; some hair<br />

has slipped from the left <strong>si</strong>de. Exoccipitals of skull mis<strong>si</strong>ng and the right<br />

bulla damaged; right half of mandible practically perfect; left half broken in<br />

two pieces.
