The hair has .slipped off from the lower dorsal and ventral regions and the<br />

skin has l)een incised along the midventrallineto permit removal of skull; skull<br />

perfect.<br />

Type not de<strong>si</strong>gnated In- number. The description implies but a <strong>si</strong>ngle specimen,<br />

unquestionably the above. The word "T^-pe" is written in the "remarks"<br />

column of the catalogue.<br />

1, 1866 [in what seems to be Doctor Coues's handwriting]." Mojave is so written<br />

that it resembles Majaor a.s given in the original description. The above<br />

label agrees in every respect with the data given by Dr. H. Allen in thc^ original<br />

desc.ijtion of the <strong>si</strong>ngle specimen that he had. It was found in the Mu.seum<br />

collect )n unnumbered, and was catalogued as No. 84549, April 21, 1898.<br />
