"5) To discard all resolutions and wholly to adhere to the appeal <strong>of</strong> the Executive Committee."<br />
NOGIN: <strong>The</strong>re are two sharply different lines: To adhere to the resolution <strong>of</strong> the Executive Committee,<br />
or to accept Kamenev's resolution as the basis.<br />
KROKHMAL: Moves that the following be put to a vote:<br />
6) To accept the appeal <strong>of</strong> the E.C.; 2) Whether to introduce amendments.<br />
KRESTINSKY: Who is eligible to vote? In the Bolshevik conference only delegates with decisive votes<br />
could vote.<br />
KHINCHUV: <strong>The</strong> same holds true for the Mensheviks. <strong>The</strong> decision is not unconditionally binding<br />
because the faction Conference has still to take place.<br />
SEVRUK: Inasmuch as the question discussed is the col lective position to be taken at the Conference, I<br />
move that we allow only those elected to the Conference to vote.<br />
CHAIRMAN: Those will vote who voted at the faction Conference.<br />
<strong>The</strong> vote is taken.<br />
Motion 5 is put to a vote. (Defeated by all votes against 29.)<br />
Motion 1 is put to a vote. (After three ballots: For-74; against-66.) <strong>The</strong> motion to come out against the<br />
resolution <strong>of</strong> the Executive Committee is adopted. (Commotion in the hall. Shouts.)<br />
Motion 4 is put to a vote. (For-62-68; against-66-70.) Motion carried: To come out with an independent<br />
resolution, taking as the basis the text <strong>of</strong> the Executive Committee.<br />
Election <strong>of</strong> conciliationist committee.<br />
Elections to this committee to be according to tendencies.<br />
<strong>The</strong> following elected: Kamenev, Voitinsky, Lieber, Ermansky.<br />
This committee is also entrusted to carry on negotiations with the Executive Committee.<br />
<strong>The</strong> Mensheviks leave for a faction session to discuss the question <strong>of</strong> their future conduct.<br />

KRESTINSKY: If no agreement is reached, what will we do?<br />
VOITINSKY: Proposes that the Bolsheviks who disagree with Kamenev's resolution leave and vote with<br />
the Menshevik Defensists.<br />
Seven men leave the hall, amoug them: Voitinsky, Sevrtik, Eliava, Yakhontov.<br />
