Flemish cinema has been
celebrated for the past ten
new talents have finally been
released from the “rural film”
model and can reinvent a
cinema free from Belgium’s
particular theme of identity
and comfortable amid the
surrounding chaos. This
tableau shows the extent
of the force and energy
of this new wave.
Four stories by eight directors.
The Taipei Factory project was
born from a desire to meet
young Taiwanese filmmakers
as well as others from Iran,
south Korea, Chile, and France.
The result is four films: The Pig,
Silent Asylum, A Nice Travel,
and Mr. Chang’s New Address.
In addition to having four
twosomes produce these short
films, the project was a fruitful,
creative film adventure in
which everyone’s worlds came
together for a common goal: to
focus on the soul of Taipei.
