Jean-YVeS ROubin
Jean-Yves Roubin began his
career as a producer along with
Jacques-Henri Bronckart, in
Versus Production. In 2000, he
joined Films de la Passerelle.
In 2006, he founded FraKas,
a film production company
that, with young directors,
takes an incisive look at our
society through forceful,
ambitious subjects — both in
fiction in documentary films.
In 2009, he, Joseph Rouschop,
and Sylvie Rasquinet created
Cinéfinance, an intermediary
tax shelter organisation that
deals mainly with financing
films produced by Tarantula
and FraKas.

A graduate of the Bezalel
Academy of Arts and Design
in Jerusalem, Paulette Smets
has been a part of all of the
projects and productions of
the Belvision studios since
1963. Chief colorist, checking
director, artistic director,
director of production and
development, she has worked
on projects such as Pinocchio
in Outer Space, Asterix and
Cleopatra, and Tintin and the
Lake of Sharks. Since 2012,
Paulette Smets has been
Honorary President of the
Belvision company.

RaOul SeRVaiS
Born in Ostend in 1928, Raoul
Servais worked with René
Magritte and Henri Storck
during the 1950s. His films
have won sixty awards in
various festivals. Harpya
received the Palme d’or at
Cannes in 1979 and was
selected by international
film critics as one of the five
best animated films of all
time. Among his many titles,
Raoul Servais is an honorary
member of the Royal Academy
of Sciences and Fine Arts of
Belgium.
OliVieR SmOldeRS
Belgian director Olivier
Smolders became known for
his serious short films with
deeply morbid themes, for
which he received numerous
awards internationally. In
2005 he released his first
feature film, Black Night, a
dreamlike color film about
metamorphosis. Olivier
Smolders is also a producer,
writer, and lecturer at INSAS
(National Higher Institute of
Performing Arts). He is the son
of sculptor Michel Smolders.
