e + e − -data do exist. The value obtained using τ-<strong>de</strong>cays or applying a fit to electroweak precision<br />

observables result in a smaller overall uncertainty compared to this measurement 8 . Besi<strong>de</strong>s a<br />

precise <strong>de</strong>termination of a fundamental parameter of the St<strong>and</strong>ard Mo<strong>de</strong>l this measurement can<br />

be seen as a consistency check of the theory of strong interactions, Quantum Chromo Dynamics.<br />
