as main discriminator between events with real <strong>and</strong> fake missing transverse energy 3 . Three<br />

in<strong>de</strong>pen<strong>de</strong>nt data-driven techniques have been used for the background estimate. 13 events are<br />

observed after all the selection, in agreement with the expectations from the St<strong>and</strong>ard Mo<strong>de</strong>l.<br />

A variation of the analysis based on the αT variable is performed requiring a b-tagged jet in<br />

the final state, in or<strong>de</strong>r to reduce non-top backgrounds <strong>and</strong> to enhance the sensitivity to mo<strong>de</strong>ls<br />

with an increased third generation activity 4 . The other two approaches are based on the MHT<br />

variable 5 <strong>and</strong> on the Razor variable 6 respectively. These two approaches are complementary,<br />

since the former is based on the un<strong>de</strong>rst<strong>and</strong>ing of the <strong>de</strong>tector response in <strong>de</strong>tail, while the latter<br />

relies on the kinematics of the event. The two analyses use both data-driven techniques for the<br />

estimate of the backgrounds. The fact that they give similar limits gives further confi<strong>de</strong>nce of<br />

the capability of CMS to discover Supersymmetry when it will appear. The mSUGRA exclusion<br />

limits for all the hadronic analysis separately are shown in fig. 1. The combination of the<br />

exclusion limits from all the fully hadronic analyses is given in the framework of the simplified<br />

mo<strong>de</strong>ls 7 , <strong>and</strong> is shown in fig. 2.<br />
