and Bohnenblust. Weyl, he said, eqhasized need of a first-class<br />

modern algebraist. He also urged that it wss necessary to recruit<br />

younger m n <strong>for</strong> the faculty, and insisted that there should be no<br />

distinction in title between the younger and older men.<br />

It should be noted especially that uni<strong>for</strong>m saltries were not contemplated<br />
