<strong>Institute</strong> purchased a large old residence at 69 Alexander Street at what<br />

was evidently considered a premium price. 'It was remodeled during tbe<br />

arrived in Princeton in October, it was ready. Dr. Morey was eager to<br />

see Hertfeld's museum and library installed in HcCormick Hall, and made<br />

space <strong>for</strong> it. But Herzfeld, claiming that he wanted access to his notes,<br />

library and artifacts all hours of day and nfght, asked the Director to<br />

rent space <strong>for</strong> him. <strong>The</strong> Instftute rented a Large spartwnt at 10 Bayard<br />

fane, where Herzfeld and his sister also each had an apartment. Profes-
