“ISSF ShOOTERS OF ThE YEAR 2012”
Who’s the best? The “ISSF Shooter of the Year award” aims to reward
a role model, a personality who is successful through unique performances,
behavior and character. The 2012 title went to Korea’s Kim
Jangmi and Italy’s Niccolo Campriani (portrayed on the cover page).
They were voted by a panel including the members of the Athletes
Committee, of the Coaches Advisory Board and by the international
sport press.
Kim Jangmi, 20, from Incheon, Korea, secured the title with 83
points, after winning the 25m Pistol Women Olympic Gold medal in
London, with a new Olympic Record of 792.4 points.
Nicco Campriani, a 1987’s engineer from Italy, secured the Shooter
of the Year title with 108 points, with a Gold and a Silver medal won
in Rifle events at the London Games.
