Sensor in place but no SpO 2 on display Insert the patient’s finger completely into sensor.<br />
Verify blood pressure and SpO 2 measurements are not taken on the same<br />
extremity.<br />
Verify the sensor cable is correctly plugged into <strong>Spot</strong> <strong>LXi</strong> (see “SpO2<br />
Sensor” on page 27).<br />
Verify you are using the correct sensor. <strong>Use</strong> only Masimo or Nellcor SpO 2<br />
sensors and accessories with the <strong>Spot</strong> <strong>LXi</strong> with Masimo or Nellcor<br />
configurations, respectively.<br />

Possible Cause Corrective Action<br />
Low battery Plug in the device. Check connections between the <strong>Spot</strong> <strong>LXi</strong> and<br />
trans<strong>for</strong>mer then between the trans<strong>for</strong>mer and wall receptacle.<br />
Device not powering up Unplug <strong>Spot</strong> <strong>LXi</strong> from wall receptacle and check <strong>for</strong> breaks in cord. If<br />
connections are secure, check electrical outlet <strong>for</strong> power.<br />
Charging indicator is on if connections are good and the device is plugged<br />
into a working outlet.<br />
If the battery is completely discharged, the LEDs will not illuminate. Allow<br />
the unit to charge at least 15 minutes be<strong>for</strong>e proceeding.<br />
Replace the battery.<br />
Verify that the AC power trans<strong>for</strong>mer connections are intact and that the<br />
charging indicator is on. If the connections are secure, check the electrical<br />
outlet <strong>for</strong> power.<br />
Plug the device into a known working electrical outlet.<br />
Notify biomedical department or Welch Allyn Technical Support.
