TCA042: Create VC-4 trail across STM-16
Purpose:
Create a VC-4 trail across STM-16 between PAR#8 and LA#8.
Test method:
1. Place SONET/SDH tester in poison shown in above diagram.
A SONET/SDH protocol tester to monitor traffic at Port A.
• Clock from received optical
• Data Optical STM-16, VC-4, bulk, PRBS15.
A SONET/SDH protocol tester to monitor traffic at Port B.
• Clock from received optical.
• Data Optical STM16, VC-4, bulk, PRBS15.
Test Plan for Optical Grooming Switches
A SONET/SDH protocol tester in through-mode within main trunk in direction between Port
A and Port B.
• Clock from received data.
• Data Optical STM16, VC-4,
• Through mode. Out of service, transparent.
2. Create a VC-4 trail across STM-16 between PAR#8 and LA#8
Expected result:
• SONET and SDH testers report error free transmission.
TCA043: N-byte transparency test.
Purpose:
Confirm transparency of N1 bytes.
SONET/S
DH tester
Test method:
1. Set A and B to “Transparent”
2. Insert test pattern into N1 byte of the SONET/SDH path overhead bytes at interface A
(tester No. 1). The same test patterns should appear at interface B, check on tester No. 4.
Expected result:
• Confirm test pattern transmitted transparently to interface B.
TCA044: TC-APId path trace.
Purpose:
Transmission of expected TC-APId path trace.
Test method:
1. Set A to “Transparent” and B to terminate the TCM bytes.
