Expected result:<br />
• Expect to measure AU-AIS at B and to record ODI back at A.<br />

Purpose:<br />
To check TCM source <strong>for</strong> errors<br />
<strong>Test</strong> method:<br />
• Set A and B to terminate the TCM bytes.<br />
• Terminate TCM at A and B<br />
• Insert B3 errors in A, using tester No.1.<br />
Expected result:<br />
• Expect to measure same number at B using tester No. 4.<br />
• The inserted TC-APId, number ofB3 errors and IEC of the TCM source can be<br />
verified with tester No. 2.<br />
• The B3 errors measured at tester No. 4 must agree with B3 errors transmitted by<br />
tester No. 1 and with the B3 and IEC errors measured at tester No. 2.<br />
• The N byte is terminated at B.<br />
• Management system should indicate errors occurring outside the TCM section.<br />

Computer running Exact <strong>Test</strong> software interfacing to testers.<br />

A SONET/SDH protocol tester to monitor traffic at Port A.<br />

• <strong>Optical</strong> OC-48<br />
A SONET/SDH protocol tester to monitor traffic at Port B.<br />
• Clock from received optical.<br />
• <strong>Optical</strong> OC-48<br />
A SONET/SDH protocol tester to through-mode within main trunk in direction between Port<br />
A and Port B<br />
