TCA060: Removal of central, critical switch matrix card.
Purpose:
Confirm that critical centralised switch matrix cards are 1+1 protected and can be replaced
without loss of traffic
Test method:
1. Begin with configuration A and no circuits configured
2. Break fibres PAR#7-LON#1. PAR#6-LON#2 and PAR#5-NY#3
3. Set up unprotected STS-1 trail from PAR#8 to NY#6
4. Confirm SONET tester is error free and that trail is routed Paris-LA-NY
5. Perform supplier specified operation to remove a central switch card in LA node
6. Check management system and STS-1 traffic
7. Replace card and check management system.
8. Perform supplier specified operation to reactivate card.
Expected result:
No loss of traffic on STS-1
Within 10 seconds management system shows alarm indicating card out
Any other comments:
In theory the architecture may be such that there are no central, critical switch card.
If so, the supplier should state this and BTexact will seek paper evidence. If BTexact
are satisfied then the test will be considered passed.
TCA061: Test replacement of central, critical switch matrix card
