submit assignments, edit work, <strong>and</strong> collabor<strong>at</strong>e with each other<br />
Topp<strong>in</strong>g the list of activities students engage <strong>in</strong> via the <strong>in</strong>ternet <strong>and</strong> digital tools is “do<strong>in</strong>g research or<br />
search<strong>in</strong>g for <strong>in</strong>form<strong>at</strong>ion onl<strong>in</strong>e” which 95% of teachers say their students do <strong>and</strong> which was the focus<br />
of the first report <strong>in</strong> this series. 9 Apart from f<strong>in</strong>d<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong>form<strong>at</strong>ion onl<strong>in</strong>e, the <strong>in</strong>ternet <strong>and</strong> digital tools are<br />
used most often by teachers to have students access (79%) <strong>and</strong> submit (76%) assignments onl<strong>in</strong>e. More<br />
<strong>in</strong>teractive onl<strong>in</strong>e learn<strong>in</strong>g activities, such as develop<strong>in</strong>g wikis, engag<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> onl<strong>in</strong>e discussions, <strong>and</strong><br />
edit<strong>in</strong>g their own or others’ work us<strong>in</strong>g collabor<strong>at</strong>ive pl<strong>at</strong>forms such as GoogleDocs, are employed by<br />
fewer teachers <strong>in</strong> the sample.<br />
