HIPPS is a project handled by several European railways, in which 4 functions are defined :<br />
- F1: to in<strong>for</strong>m a requesting Railway on the theoretic date/time arrival of a transport <strong>for</strong><br />
which departure characteristics are given.(In order to collect the various national<br />
in<strong>for</strong>mation message exchanges are done between the “Central system” and each of<br />
them – see table 5)<br />
- F2: to in<strong>for</strong>m a requesting Railway on the real date/time arrival of a transport <strong>for</strong> which<br />
departure characteristics are given.(In order to collect the various national in<strong>for</strong>mation<br />
message exchanges are done between the “Central system” and each of them).<br />
- F3: to follow the transport according to what has been scheduled in F2. Any significant<br />
differences will be reported.<br />
- F4: to take special measures in case of anomaly.<br />
Only the exchanged messages <strong>for</strong> F1 are indicated below. The messages should be similar<br />
<strong>for</strong> F2 while F3 and F4 have not yet been developed.<br />
Note that the way that in<strong>for</strong>mation exchanges are made with the consignor and the<br />
consignee, depends exclusively on the destination and arrival Railway.<br />
