Arrived at the freight <strong>for</strong>warder/carrier’s warehouse, goods are consolidated in a container.<br />
A consolidation label may be placed on the consolidated goods by the carrier.<br />
7. Documentation to be sent<br />
a. From carrier to consignor<br />
As a proof of acceptance of goods, the carrier will provide the consignor with the<br />
Through B/L, Data Freight Receipt.<br />
If EDI is used, this will be done by the message IFTMCS or IFCSUM.<br />
The consolidation label may be scanned <strong>for</strong> documenting purposes.<br />
b. From the freight <strong>for</strong>warder/carrier to the import freight <strong>for</strong>warder consigned<br />
The freight <strong>for</strong>warder/carrier will send to the import freight <strong>for</strong>warder the B/L, TBL’s<br />
relating to the container consignment and the other documents attached to.<br />
c. From consignor to the consignee<br />
On receiving the TBL, Data Freight Receipt, the consignor shall in<strong>for</strong>m the final<br />
consignee about the goods received.<br />
If EDI is used, this will be done by the message DESADV, INVOIC.<br />
8. <strong>Transport</strong> status request<br />
During the transport, the carrier or consignor can ask <strong>for</strong> a report about the precise status of<br />
the transport or about unexpected events. This request can be explicit or can be part of a<br />
general agreement in which conditions <strong>for</strong> automatic reporting are specified.<br />
If EDI is used, the request will be done by means of the message IFTSTQ.<br />
9. <strong>Transport</strong> status report to consignor / consignee<br />
During the transport, the carrier can in<strong>for</strong>m the consignor or the import freight <strong>for</strong>warder<br />
consignee about the precise status of the transport or unexpected events that have occurred.<br />
This reporting can be done as a milestone reporting, reporting by exception or reports based<br />
on ad-hoc request <strong>for</strong> follow-up in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />
As far as he is concerned the import freight <strong>for</strong>warder could in<strong>for</strong>m the consignee about his<br />
consignment.<br />
If EDI is used, this will be done by the message IFTSTA.<br />
10. (Pre)-arrival notification to consignee<br />
Goods on move<br />
The carrier will in<strong>for</strong>m the import freight <strong>for</strong>warder about the consignment<br />
that is due to arrive at the stipulated Port of Discharge and ETA.
