2.6. Delivery from Consignor via a Logistic Centre to Consignee<br />

The Consignee is responsible <strong>for</strong> the movement of goods to the Logistic Centre<br />

The Consignee is responsible <strong>for</strong> the movement of goods out of the Logistic<br />

Centre<br />

This scenario details the data flow to and from the logistic centre/warehouse between the<br />

Consignor, Freight Forwarder/Carrier, Logistic Centre/Warehouse and Consignee to execute<br />

the physical delivery to the Consignee via a Logistic Centre/Warehouse.<br />

In this scenario the Consignee is responsible <strong>for</strong> the physical delivery of goods to the<br />

Logistic centre/Warehouse and the Consignee is responsible <strong>for</strong> the request of the delivery<br />

from the Logistic centre/Warehouse to the Consignee. The Logistic centre/Warehouse will<br />

act <strong>for</strong> the delivery to the Consignee on instructions of the Consignee.<br />

2.6.1. Roles of parties involved<br />

Consignor<br />

Consignor is the owner of the goods until they have been delivered to the consignee.<br />

The Consignor has minimal responsibility with arranging transport to the Logistic Centre or<br />

paying <strong>for</strong> same. He must simply notify the Consignee that the goods are ready at the<br />

Consignor (packed in accordance to purchase order) and provide documentation and<br />

track/trace in<strong>for</strong>mation.<br />

Consignee<br />

The Consignee has responsibility in this scenario to arrange and pay <strong>for</strong> the transport from<br />

Consignor to the Logistic Centre and from the Logistic Centre to his place as well as cargo<br />

insurance <strong>for</strong> the transport.<br />

Freight Forwarder/Carrier<br />

The Freight Forwarder/Carrier will act on instructions given by the Consignee with regards<br />

to collection from Consignor and delivery to Logistic Centre.<br />

The Freight Forwarder/Carrier will also act on instructions given by the Consignee with<br />

regards to collection from Logistic Centre and delivery to Consignee.<br />

2.6.2 Contractual Obligations agreed be<strong>for</strong>e<br />

Contract <strong>for</strong> carriage between Freight <strong>for</strong>warder/Carrier and Consignee<br />

- Freight Rate Negotiation<br />

- Terms and conditions <strong>for</strong> employment of carrier.<br />

Contract <strong>for</strong> the sale of goods between Consignor and Consignee<br />

- Sales negotiation (e.g. Request <strong>for</strong> quota)<br />

- Terms and conditions <strong>for</strong> the sale of goods (e.g. Purchase order)
