A status message may be sent:<br />

- as the result of request/s <strong>for</strong> consignment/s or equipment status/es<br />

- on a scheduled basis at predetermined times<br />

- on the occurrence of a selected event/s<br />

- on the occurrence of an exceptional event as agreed by the partners involved.<br />

This message can relate to a status (or statuses) that has or have been reached in a transport<br />

chain.<br />

PRE-ARRIVAL NOTIFICATION MESSAGE (IFTMAN or IFCSUM)<br />

A message from the party providing <strong>for</strong>warding and/or transport services to the party such<br />

as has been indicated in the contract, giving notice and details of the arrival of the<br />

consignment.<br />

The notify party might be the consignee or his agent or the customs broker depending on the<br />

custom of the port or the conditions in the contract.<br />

GOODS DELIVERED TO CONSIGNEE<br />

PROOF OF DELIVERY MESSAGE (IFTSTA)<br />

A message to report the transport status and/or a change in the transport status (i.e. event)<br />

between agreed parties.<br />

This message allows <strong>for</strong> the exchange of in<strong>for</strong>mation regarding the status of the physical<br />

movement of consignments, goods or equipment at any point (in time or place) within the<br />

full transport chain.<br />

A status message may be sent:<br />

- as the result of request/s <strong>for</strong> consignment/s or equipment status/es<br />

- on a scheduled basis at predetermined times<br />

- on the occurrence of a selected event/s<br />

- on the occurrence of an exceptional event as agreed by the partners involved.<br />

This message can relate to a status (or statuses) that has or have been reached in a transport<br />

chain.<br />

ADVICE OF RECEIPT MESSAGE (RECADV)<br />

This message is to address the business needs related to the goods receipt. This message is<br />

used to report the physical receipt of goods. The message allows <strong>for</strong> the reporting of<br />

discrepancies in products, quantities, terms, packages, etc.<br />

The message may contain only the in<strong>for</strong>mation that the received consignment is completely<br />

in line with the consignment in<strong>for</strong>mation given in the Despatch advice message. In case<br />

there is no detail to be provided.<br />

The message may in<strong>for</strong>m about the discrepancies:<br />

- between the received consignment and consignment in<strong>for</strong>mation given in the Despatch<br />

advice message.<br />

- between the received goods and the ordered goods in the ORDERS, DELFOR or<br />

DELJIT in<strong>for</strong>mation.
