2.3.4. Information Flow Description
19
MIST Working Group, version 2001
We assume that for the synchronised transports, a contract is in place, describing the time
plan and frequencies that journeys need to take place.
The transport label should be already attached to the goods.
1. Proof of collection
Despatch of goods
The carrier signs the CMR, confirming that he has picked up goods at a given time (in
accordance with the contract / time table).
If automatic identification is used for transport purposes, the goods may be scanned during
the loading process to check the loading against the loading list or to automatically produce
a packing list.
Goods delivered to consignee
If automatic identification is used for transport purposes, the goods are scanned to check
against the despatch advice. This may be used to automate flows 2 and 3.
2. Proof of Delivery
The consignee signs the CMR after the reception of goods.
3. Consolidated arrival notification
The carrier sends on a periodical base (defined in the contract) a summary of the performed
transports / journeys.
When using EDI, this will be done via the IFCSUM-message.
4. Freight Invoice
Freight invoice
From Carrier to Consignee
EDI message will be an INVOIC-message sent upon carrier issuing a consolidated arrival
notification after physical delivery of goods to the Consignee’s premises
