The area in the bottom right-hand corner expresses the major focus. In order to<br />

handle the conflicts, actors tend to create some internal norms. The norms are<br />

based on stable and robust interfirm roles, which means that many of the problems<br />

are associated with intentions and external expectations.<br />

As to strong structural elements in a bonded network, it can be suggested that<br />

there is a linkage between the strength of the relationship and commitment as<br />

follows: strength of the relationship f(commitment) and commitment <br />

f(bonding). Furthermore, commitment = f(social bonding, structural bonding), in<br />

which social bonding = f(satisfaction, trust) (see e.g. Wilson and Jantrania 1996).<br />

As such the social elements and structures in one particular network (and e.g.<br />

embeddedness as a reflection of social nets) maintain the stability in the<br />

net(work)s.<br />
