Recovering from a Forgotten Enable Password<br />

If you forget the enable password:<br />

copy flash://startup-config.bak<br />

running-config<br />

no authentication login<br />

no password<br />

10 Save the running-config. copy running-config startup-config EXEC Privilege<br />

1 Log onto the system via console.<br />

2 Eject the secondary RPM if there is one.<br />

3 Power-cycle the chassis by switching off all of the power modules and then switching them back on.<br />

4 Abort bootup by sending the<br />

break signal when prompted. See<br />

5 Configure the system to ignore<br />

the enable password on bootup.<br />

Note: This command only<br />

bypasses the enable password<br />

once. You must repeat this<br />

procedure to bypass it again.<br />
