Educational objectives:
Interactive presentations of breast cancer patients
referred to Nuclear Medicine Department for various
reasons. The objectives of the panel are:
To provide an overview of sentinel node biopsy
applications in breast cancer patients with
especial focus on the controversial issues in this
regard.
To provide an overview of radiotherapy and
chemotherapy in breast cancer patients with
special attention to nuclear physician
involvement.
To provide an overview of staging , follow-up
and metastatic work-up in breast cancer patients
To provide an overview of PET/CT applications in
breast cancer patients.
Summary:
In this interactive panel, various aspects of
conventional nuclear medicine applications in breast
cancer patients are reviewed including bone
scintigraphy, sentinel node biopsy, PET/CT, etc.
Several controversial issues in sentinel node biopsy
as well as radiotherapy and chemotherapy will be
discussed.
