Paramblynotus prinslooi, new species<br />

FEMALE:<br />

Length 4.5 mm. Head, antennae,<br />

and mesosoma mostly black; mandibles,<br />

upper part <strong>of</strong> lateral surface <strong>of</strong> pronotum,<br />

propodeum, metasoma, and legs red brown.<br />

Wings clear.<br />

Head strongly compressed longitudinally,<br />

occiput only slightly concave in dorsal view.<br />

Ocellar plate not obviously raised and not<br />

defined laterally by carinae. Antennal scrobe<br />

not defined by lateral carinae. Upper face<br />

glabrous and punctate-foveate entirely. Median<br />

frontal carina only shortly present<br />

between antennal sockets and two lateral<br />

carinae branching from it at level <strong>of</strong> upper<br />

margin <strong>of</strong> antennal socket toward (reaching<br />

or not) posterior ocellus. Vertex glabrous;<br />

sparsely punctate anteriorly and ra<strong>the</strong>r densely<br />

foveate posteriorly. Eye prominent, laterally<br />

extended much beyond outer margin <strong>of</strong><br />

gena. Lower face entirely punctate-foveaterugose<br />

with pubescence. Anterior tentorial<br />

pits distinct. Clypeo-pleurostomal sulcus and<br />

epistomal sulcus form a smoothly curved arch.<br />

Clypeus foveate-reticulate. Gena glabrous and<br />

moderately densely foveate/punctate. Occiput<br />

glabrous with setigerous punctures.<br />

Anterior flange <strong>of</strong> pronotum glabrate;<br />

anterior plate <strong>of</strong> pronotum foveate-reticulate<br />

with pubescence, and posteriorly also longitudinally<br />

carinate. Pronotum dorsomedially<br />

not distinctly raised. Pronotal crest medially<br />

without emargination. Lateral pronotal carina<br />

distinct, reaching pronotal crest dorsomedially.<br />

Lateral surface <strong>of</strong> pronotum foveatereticulate,<br />

and also somewhat glabrate posteriorly<br />

and ventrally. Dorsal pronotal area<br />

glabrous and complete to end <strong>of</strong> dorsal<br />

posterior margin <strong>of</strong> pronotum. Mesoscutum<br />

foveate-reticulate, not transversely costate.
