An inversion apploach to <strong>SAR</strong> irnage leconstruction has been formulated<br />

theoletically in the ealliel chaptels. Inverse scatteling ancl Boln invel'sion<br />

theory rvas appliecl in the folmulation. The proposed invelsion aucl image<br />

fotmation of <strong>SAR</strong> clata has been implemented nurnerically, ancl is sulnrnalizecl<br />

as a flolv chatt ir Figule 5.1.<br />

The invelsion scheme shorvl in Figure 5.1 is based ol trq.(4.32). After<br />

Fouliel transforrl of the rarv <strong>SAR</strong> clata, clifferentiation rvitli respect to frequency<br />

is requiled to obtain O(c6;t.,.,) fron U5(ø6;c.r) as in Eq.(4.27). The<br />

same result, horvever, can be mote easily achieved by multiplying larv <strong>SAR</strong><br />

clata by (-il) befole Fourier tlansfolrnation. The output of Fouliel tlansfor'-<br />

nratiorr is then not the Fouliel tlalsfot'rl Us(k";u) of the oliginal law <strong>SAR</strong><br />
