6 MENU MODE OPERATION<br />
D User Setting<br />
The User setting mode allows you to set the seldom-changed<br />
settings, and you can “customize” the transponder operation<br />
to suit your preferences and operating style.<br />
q Push [MENU] to enter the Menu mode.<br />
w Push [∫] or [√] to select “User Setting,” then push [ENT].<br />
e Push [∫] or [√] to select the desired item, then push [ENT].<br />
r Select the desired option, shown in the Menu below.<br />
The procedures are described to the right and continued<br />
on the next page.<br />
t Repeat steps e and r to select other items.<br />
y Push [CLEAR] to save and return to the Menu mode.<br />
u Push [CLEAR] to exit the Menu mode.<br />

• Alarm Buzzer<br />
Turn the alarm buzzer function ON or OFF.<br />
➥ Push [ENT] to toggle this function ON or OFF.*<br />
ON : The alarm buzzer sounds when a malfunction occurs<br />
or an AIS target is closer than your CPA and<br />
TCPA settings*. (default)<br />
*The alarm buzzer sounds only when the collision alarm<br />
function is turned ON. (p. 29)<br />
OFF : The alarm buzzer is OFF.<br />
• Received Message Buzzer (RCV MSG BUZZ)<br />
Turn the received message buzzer function ON or OFF.<br />
➥ Push [ENT] to toggle this function ON or OFF.*<br />
ON : The buzzer sounds three times when a message is<br />
received. (default)<br />
OFF : The received message buzzer is OFF.<br />

• Key Beep<br />
You can select the silent operation, or you can have confirmation<br />
beeps sound when you push a key.<br />
➥ Push [ENT] to toggle this function ON or OFF.*<br />
ON : A beep sounds when pushing a key. (default)<br />
OFF : The key beep is OFF. (Silent operation)<br />
*You can also turn ON the function by pushing [≈], or OFF<br />
by pushing [Ω].
