MATHEMATICS: PURE<br />
The certificate in Pure Math provides students with the mathematical<br />
background required to succeed in subsequent courses in math, physics,<br />
computer science, and engineering. This certificate differs from that in Applied<br />
Math due to the inclusion of Linear Algebra. Linear Algebra provides students<br />
with what is often their first taste of the theoretical math seen in upper division<br />
courses.<br />

engineering, mathematics, and science.<br />

The Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) Server Administrator<br />
certification helps you advance your career by ensuring that you have the skills<br />

MODERN DANCE TEACHER/CHOREOGRAPHER<br />
The student will focus on teaching styles and choreography. Each student will<br />
have the opportunity to mentor with a dance faculty and learn various teaching<br />
styles. The student will also learn theatre technology and lighting design. This<br />
will enhance the student’s ability to communicate with theatre technicians in the<br />
field and provide for a better expression of choreography.<br />
This certificate signifies that the student has competent teaching skills and has<br />
adequate experience in theatrical stage craft and lighting design necessary to<br />
communicate expressed choreography in the professional theatrical field.<br />

1. Conduct a dance technique class with communicative teaching skills,<br />
confidence, and conviction in a studio and/or rehearsal setting.<br />

demonstrate effective communication skills using dance terminology to<br />
express choreographic ideas.<br />

MUSIC THEORY<br />
The Music Department at <strong>Ohlone</strong> <strong>College</strong> has developed the Music Theory<br />
Certificate of Accomplishment to recognize the completion of acquired skills in<br />
the field of music theory and musicianship. Students who demonstrate the<br />
industry and passion to finish this program will be rewarded with an expanded<br />
skills-set in music theory and musicianship, the conceptual tools to apply the<br />
same techniques to other life tasks, and the continued pride of program<br />
completion.<br />
