Council has convened a joint committee, appointed four
representatives and adopted terms of reference at the March
Council meeting. The first meeting of the joint committee was
held on 7 May and work is progressing^officer level.
Council adopted the Draft Annual Plan on 18 March-2013.
Consultation opened on 25 March and closed on 24 April 2013.
Council received 123 submissions.
Hearings were held on 13 and 15 May 2013. Deliberations will
be conducted on the week of 20 May 2013.
The third quarter report covering January to March 2013 goes
to Council in May 2013 as part of the CEO's report.
Officers are working with the appellants and the Environment
Court to structure the appeal process and initiate mediation.
The contract has been let to Downer NZ Ltd.
Earthworks have commenced and it is anticipated the project
will be completed by the end of June.
