2.3. SUMMARY 15 2.3 Summary In this chapter mathematical models of the Voltage Source Converter (VSC) have been presented. On the basis of mathematical description simulation models could be created, which simplify research on control system. To reduce number of equations, space vector theory has been introduced. It allows to present VSC in stationary and rotating coordinate systems. An important advantage of rotating coordinate system is representation three phase AC signals as a DC signals. Chapter 2 presents basic knowledge about three phase, two level converter, which allows further analysis of control methods.
