5. Select or deselect the Enable application usage monitoring checkbox to enable or disable application<br />

usage monitoring, and then click Save.<br />

Security<br />

Use this pane to set up or modify the following security preferences for client management:<br />

Enable Certificate-Based Communication<br />

Ensures that all messages from Mac OS X clients to the JSS are signed with a valid signature. The JSS rejects<br />

the message if the signature is invalid. (This option is selected by default for all fresh installs of the JSS.)<br />

Enable Push Notifications for OS X v10.7 or later clients<br />

Allows clients with OS X v10.7 or later to perform secure transactions between the jamf binary and the JSS.<br />

Note: This option is only displayed if certificate-based communication is enabled and an APNs certificate<br />

is uploaded to the JSS. See the “Apple Push Notification Service Certificate” section for more information.<br />

This JSS has a valid certificate installed<br />

Indicates that there is a valid web server certificate installed on the server.<br />

Maximum Clock Skew<br />

Sets a maximum difference in clock settings for the server and enrolled computers.<br />

To set up or modify security preferences:<br />

1. Log in to the JSS with a web browser.<br />

2. Click the Settings tab.<br />

3. Click the Computer Management Framework Settings link.<br />

4. Click the Security tab.<br />
