The traffic into our facilities during these two weekends is considerably higher than that
of a typical weekend. This can be seen not only by the revenue generated at the gates
but also at our canteen. The Municipality operates the canteen at the Shores only,
while the Lambton Shores Minor Hockey Association operates a food booth at the
Legacy Centre as one of their annual fundraisers. Sales at the Shores canteen are
almost four times higher per Silver Stick weekend then they are on a typical weekend.
Staff would like Council to be aware of the numerous compliments we received from our
visitors over the duration of the two weekends. They included the coordination of the
tournament itself, the friendly staff and volunteers at each venue and the facilities
themselves (cleanliness, accessibility, modern amenities).
Although our local teams were not successful in reaching the finals of the tournaments,
Lambton Shores was still represented well. The winning teams were as follows:

The Annual Silver Stick Tournaments are organized by a committee under the direction
of Al McColl and Rick Allen. This first class tournament puts Lambton Shores on the
map and it would not be possible without the countless hours the volunteers put in.
Lambton Shores’ staff also worked extra hard to keep everything running smoothly and
the facilities tidy. Everyone involved should be commended for their efforts in making
the tournaments a huge success again this year!
