As described in <strong>the</strong> Soil Survey <strong>of</strong> <strong>Morris</strong> <strong>County</strong>, New Jersey, soil associations <strong>for</strong>med within Glacial Lake<br />

Sediment occur throughout <strong>the</strong> county in low lying areas. They consist <strong>of</strong> wet organic soils, wet clayey soils,<br />

and wet or dry gravelly sandy loams. Soil associations <strong>for</strong>med within Old Glacial Deposits are located on<br />

uplands and in valleys, in <strong>the</strong> sou<strong>the</strong>rn and southwestern parts <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> county. These soils are mostly loamy<br />

and deeply wea<strong>the</strong>red, having more clay in <strong>the</strong> subsoil than in <strong>the</strong> surface layer. Soil associations <strong>for</strong>med<br />

within Young Glacial Till are found on ridges and in valleys. They are gravelly and extremely stony sandy<br />

loams underlain by glacial till that ranges from gravelly loamy sand to silt loam.<br />
