Watersheds<br />

Following is a watershed- based<br />

presentation <strong>of</strong> <strong>Morris</strong> <strong>County</strong>'s<br />

surface water. As depicted in<br />

Figures 1 and 2, <strong>the</strong> <strong>County</strong><br />

comprises three major basins:<br />

<strong>the</strong> Delaware, Raritan, and<br />

Passaic. These basins are<br />

divided fur<strong>the</strong>r into watersheds.<br />

Brief characterizations are<br />

provided accordingly.<br />

DELAWARE BASIN<br />

We will begin our discussion with <strong>the</strong><br />

Delaware basin which constitutes <strong>the</strong><br />

smallest percentage <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> <strong>County</strong>.<br />

The watershed specific to <strong>the</strong><br />

Delaware, that exists within this county<br />

is <strong>the</strong> Musconetcong<br />
