DOMESTIC VIOLENCE<br />
Description: Family Shelter Service is a comprehensive domestic violence program in<br />
DuPage County, providing a range of services, support, information and resources to<br />
assist victims and their children to overcome obstacles and to become safe.<br />
In addition to safe shelter, Family Shelter Service offers individual and group counseling,<br />
court advocacy, hotline, children’s services, Spanish language services, and training and<br />
prevention.<br />

Description: Works to serve the needs of single moms and their children who are homeless or<br />
one small crisis away from homelessness. The mission of FHC is to transform the lives of these<br />
moms and their children by providing affordable housing and life skills mentoring to guide them<br />
from crisis to long-term stability. FHC does not discriminate when selecting women for the<br />
program. They work with a diverse population which, at present, includes moms ranging in age<br />
from 21 to 45 from various economic, cultural, racial and religious backgrounds.<br />
Services<br />
HOMELESS SERVICES<br />
Description: Fellowship Housing is a two year transitional program that works<br />
exclusively with single moms. We are located in the Hoffman Estates/Schaumburg area. If<br />
a mom is accepted into the program, they would reside in a two bedroom apartment and<br />
pay $550 per month for rent. Fellowship Housing has a strong focus on the financial<br />
aspect of independence and stability, so when a mom is accepted into the program, they<br />
work with a case manager on budgeting and are expected to follow a strict budget.<br />
Eligibility: -Must be over 21<br />
-Currently employed full time (making at least $1400 after taxes)<br />
-Have their own vehicle along with a valid driver's license and insurance<br />
-Have 3 children or less, ages 0-18, and have full custody<br />
-6 months since last domestic violence relationship<br />
-1 year sober if there is a history of drug/alcohol abuse<br />
Documents Needed: Photo ID, proof of income.<br />
