Note: A range of services are available through The <strong>Center</strong> for Prevention of Abuse including<br />
24-hour crisis hotline, counseling, safe temporary shelter, transitional apartments, emotional<br />
support, assistance in obtaining community resources and help in acquiring employment skills<br />
and work referrals.<br />

Description: Offers safe shelter, support groups, medical and legal advocacy,<br />
employment services and abuser programs for victims and their families.<br />

Services<br />
Hope <strong>Center</strong> for Residential Services<br />
Description: Offers residential placement in both on-campus dormitory-style homes and<br />
community-based family-style homes. Our five on-campus homes are designed to meet<br />
the needs of our most medically fragile children while providing an environment that<br />
encourages growth and independence. Off campus, our community residential program<br />
includes 12 family-style homes within the local community. Staff at our homes focus upon<br />
our youth’s health and safety by providing appropriate levels of supervision based upon<br />
the youth’s needs and capabilities.<br />

Eligibility: Serves residents of Kankakee County, 18 years or older, with serious mental illness.<br />
Due to recent state funding cutbacks, services are only available to those on Medicaid (state<br />
medical card).<br />
