Note: A range of services are available through The Center for Prevention of Abuse including
24-hour crisis hotline, counseling, safe temporary shelter, transitional apartments, emotional
support, assistance in obtaining community resources and help in acquiring employment skills
and work referrals.

Description: Offers safe shelter, support groups, medical and legal advocacy,
employment services and abuser programs for victims and their families.

Hope Center for Residential Services
Description: Offers residential placement in both on-campus dormitory-style homes and
community-based family-style homes. Our five on-campus homes are designed to meet
the needs of our most medically fragile children while providing an environment that
encourages growth and independence. Off campus, our community residential program
includes 12 family-style homes within the local community. Staff at our homes focus upon
our youth’s health and safety by providing appropriate levels of supervision based upon
the youth’s needs and capabilities.

Area Served: Kankakee County.
Eligibility: Serves residents of Kankakee County, 18 years or older, with serious mental illness.
Due to recent state funding cutbacks, services are only available to those on Medicaid (state
medical card).
