Transitional Housing & Affordable Housing
Description: Home of the Sparrow provides Hope, Opportunity and Support that
empowers women and children as they journey from homelessness to self-sufficiency.
Through engaged program services, transitional apartments, transitional shelters and an
affordable housing program, HOS serves over 165 women and children every year.
Eligibility: Homeless woman and children; formerly homeless woman and children.
Maximum Income Guidelines: 300% (depending on program)
Documents Needed: Proof of income, proof of residency, Social Security card, and
other documentation, depending on program.
Fees: Vary; private pay accepted.
Referral Procedures: Potential clients may contact the agency directly or may be
referred by another provider.

SHELTER
Description: Emergency Shelter Services offer safe shelter, food, clothing, case
management, and ministry support to individuals and families in crisis. Serves men,
women and children.
Documents Needed: Clearance Card from the Bloomington Police Department and a
valid, current photo ID.
Fees: None.
Referral Procedures: Residential screening appointments are held weekdays between
9:30-11:00 am. Appointments are reserved on a first come first served basis. Screening
appointments may be reserved in person or over the phone by the individual(s) in need
and/or by a referral agency. Emergency assessments are conducted after regular
business hours and on the weekends as needed.
