PUBLIC HOUSING<br />
Description: MCHA owns and manages 177 units of public housing throughout the<br />
county. Units sizes range from 1-4-bedrooms. Units styles range from high-rise<br />
apartments to detached single-family units. Many units include paid utilities.<br />
Prairie Place was established in 2002 and is comprised of 20 rental units located in the<br />
communities of Athens and Petersburg. All units are single-family homes with attached<br />
1-car garage.<br />
County Estates is the newest addition to affordable housing in Menard County. County<br />
Estates is comprised of 68 rental units located in the communities of Petersburg, Athens,<br />
and Greenview. Most of the units are single-family homes with attached 2-car garage.<br />
Units range in size from 2-4 bedrooms. There are also handicapped-accessible units<br />

Residential Programs<br />
Description: Adult Group Homes: Milestone, Inc. has 30 residential group homes for<br />
adults with developmental disabilities throughout the Greater Rockford Area. Each<br />
individual actively takes part in the day to day activities of cleaning, cooking, shopping,<br />
along with a wide variety of recreational activities.<br />
RocVale Children's Home: A Residential facility for children between the ages of 6 and 21<br />
with a developmental disability as a primary diagnosis. Providing a comfortable homelike<br />
atmosphere combining highly specialized services with around the clock supervision and<br />
nursing care. Individuals are given the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of home<br />
and community activities designed to prepare them for adult life. Programs range from<br />
daily living skills to personal care, safety and physical well being.<br />
Elmwood Heights: Residential facility for 84 adult individuals who are physically and<br />
developmentally disabled and medically fragile. A comfortable homelike atmosphere<br />
combining highly specialized services with around the clock medical care. Personalized<br />
attention and training is provided to help the individual develop daily living skills.<br />
