Figure 5.5 shows the measures <strong>of</strong> P <strong>and</strong> Q as well as the measure <strong>of</strong> V at unit 1 when unit 1 is<br />

operating in parallel to unit 2. The unbalance is determined by a phase on the load <strong>of</strong> unit one<br />

being open. The overall voltage unbalance at the terminals <strong>of</strong> unit 1 is reduced to 3.97% due to<br />

the presence <strong>of</strong> unit 2. Figure 5.6 shows the same quantities for unit 2. Being that this second<br />

unit is farther away from the unbalanced load, the amplitudes <strong>of</strong> the oscillations at 120Hz are<br />

reduced.<br />
